So the first week of school has come and gone here in Ghana. I have stepped in the classroom only to introduce myself to the students. I've been told that classes will start on Monday of next week....so in the meantime I have been 'supervising' the cleaning of the grounds and just hanging out. It will take some time to get used to the way everything is run here, but that is the way it is with any new job. But for now all of the students know more about what's going on than I do...lol, oh well. I'm excited to start teaching! I was able to get up to the school last week and take some photos.
The top photo is of the current JHS building in which I will be teaching.
The middle photo is of the new school building that is currently under construction. It should be completed by the end of this year.
The bottom photo is of the primary school that is adjacent to both. So pretend you were in my shoes, approaching the school. On my
right would be the JHS, directly in front of me would be the new building and then to my left the primary school. As you can see, my school is on the top of a hill. It is really nice because there is always a small breeze. It helps keep it a bit cooler.

A cutlass? Man I haven't heard that term since...I don't know when. That's some real swashbuckling stuff. The old pirates kept them so sharp that they could "mince a floating feather." That's sharp !
I heard that today is National Talk Like a Pirate Day. I think I might spend at least a part of the day annoying people at the office.
Did I happen to mention that I'm bored?
The appraisal thing is going well. Finally starting to cool off here in Vegas. Your truck is doing well, bids on that nice watch you used to consider yours is now up to $11.50 on EBay.
Keep up the good work.

Hey Matt, I loved the shots of your school compound and your home. Thanks for the insight! I was so surprised in today's LVRJ Sunday paper to see Ghana's National Park on the front page of the travel section. It features some foot bridges and the local friendly people.
Thinking of you everyday.
Love, A. Carole and U. Archie
